If you're interested in a read that's written at a sixth-grade level, then abstain from this book. However, if you're intrigued by a book written in cold, hard scientific technical-style, then you could fully appreciate the book.
Barbara starts by teaching you the basics of trader psychology, then proceeds to give you a high-level overview of the multitude of indicators. Next, she discusses the different types of charts, and how each bar and pattern can be used as an indicator [charting]. After the basics, she'll teach you about each major indicator by discussing each indicator of which it's composed or which it improves.
At the end of the book, she leaves you with the crescendo of Ichimoku: my personal favorite indicator. Ichimoku puts together everything you learn in the book. You'll want to watch the videos from Chaos Trader on YouTube to more easily and fully appreciate Ichimoku, as that section is difficult to understand.
After Ichimoku, she leaves you with the trinkets in the characteristic "Part of Tens" portion of the book. The Part of Tens is a summary of everything you learned. Format: Paperback Verified Purchase.
This book Which I cover in chapter 2 was very annoying to read. It's a good book for an experienced trader but a little too involved for the novice. Technical Analysis for Dummies by Barbara Burns is a great book for your shelf to use as a reference because it has a lot of information that would be of value to the more advanced. The book is certainly not recommended for "Dummies" - in my opinion!
There is lots of wasted sentences which I guess is used as filler. It's technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download to pass straight to certain chapters. I have mixed feelings on this book. I feel it is useful if you can bypass the noise.
I would have liked to see a lot less pages and a more straightforward to the point style. I will say this is not a first good technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download if you want to learn the basics of charting and strategies.
This, like the previous edition, is a must read for people who invest in the stock market. I read the previous edition as a supplement to my masters degree assignments. This new edition is well worth reading, if for nothing more than to refresh your current understanding of the market in today's environment.
There is quite a few new explanations and additions to this version and Ms. Rockefeller explains all of it very well. Technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download book. One person found this helpful, technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download. This is a terrific starting point for technical analysis.
It is easily understood and covers just about all the basics. It doesn't push any one view and is therefore a first-rate unbiased survey. Its only bias is toward technical analysis. If someone new to trading asked me what books to read to get started I'd point them to this one and Jack D.
Schwager's "Getting Started in Technical Analysis. Easy read and to the point, the way I prefer! I bought this for my husband who said it has some very useful information but you should definitely look further into the subject before jumping in.
It's a good stepping stone in the right direction though. It's enough information to let you know if it's something you would be interested in continuing researching.
See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Wonderful book. I bought it alongside Pring's book on technical analysis, and this is by far the most useful. Maybe Martin Pring is a bit more advanced on techniques, but Rockefeller is filled with practical details. Also, she is better targeting the serious private investor, who is up to building his own money management procedures. I had a lot of success using this book, technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download, so I recommend it to everyone.
Not only as a newbies' introduction, technical analysis for dummies 3rd edition pdf download, but just as well for the seasoned investor who wants to improve his or her investment activities. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. This is an excellent book that details all aspects of technical analysis. Anyone who has tried using shorter term time frames will likely testify how difficult this method is to get consistently right.
If you can buy "good" companies at the "right time", then buy and hold is likely better long term.
